WBC Kids Church

Kids Church is designed for ages 1 to grade 8 and focusses on God’s plan for our lives and encouraging children to be life-long followers of Jesus. During the school term, Kids Church runs from 9:15-10:30am and is where the children have the opportunity to play, create, sing and learn in ways that are appropriate to their developmental stage. We use small groups to help build relationships as we move through a series of rotational activities.

This week:

If you can’t join us for Kids Church this week, you can watch the story online so you don’t miss out!

 What to expect

When you arrive at the Church, head over to the “WBC Kids” Corner in the foyer (it is very bright and hard to miss) and one of our friendly volunteers will help you register your kids and let you know what small group they will be in. At the Kids Corner, please advise our team of any allergies or medical conditions that we need to be aware of so that we can keep your kids safe and engaged during their time at Kids Church. After you have registered at the Kids Corner, you can move into the main service as a family to worship together until the kids are sent out to their program (around 9:15am).  Primary-age children will meet their group leader at their group’s coloured flag and then move to the hall for their worship and story time before heading off to their fun group rotations with their small groups.

Our Junior Kids Church Program is full of fun, sensory activities for our youngest kids (aged approximately 2 years to Prep) and operates in the purpose-built area that is accessed off the foyer. Children younger than 2 years of age are welcome to attend but may require a parent or guardian to stay with them.

Teenagers in grades 7 and 8 are welcome to attend a program called ‘Launch’ in the Chapel area near the entrance to the church building.

Kids Church runs through until 10:30am, so if the church service finishes before this time, we encourage you to take the opportunity to have some morning tea and one of those rare kid-free conversations. Primary-aged children can be picked up from the Hall near the terrace where morning tea is served.

All our Kids Church leaders have received comprehensive training and all leaders over 18 years of age hold a current Blue Card. If you have any questions about Kids Church, you can contact the church office or email kids@wybc.org.au.

If your young child would prefer to stay with you during the service, there are two Parents’ Rooms that you are welcome to access if you need. One is located on the right-hand side of the auditorium as you are entering, and the other is in our pre-school area. Both rooms have an audio and visual feed of the service.

We look forward to having you and your family as part of our Sunday program.

 Faith Pathway

Faith Pathway is a simple booklet with ideas to help you as you guide your child in their journey towards a life of faith in Jesus. We would love to see your child and your family establish patterns of behaviour that will help their faith grow strong and be able to withstand challenges that will come their way.
